Inauguration of the Quake Prize

The Asia Pacific Reader is once again overjoyed to announce the creation of the Quake Prize to honour excellence in academic research.

The prize, which has been endowed jointly by the Asian Institute and the East Asian Studies Department, will be awarded to the top academic paper submitted to the East Asia Forum for publication each year. There will be accompanying prizes awarded in top photo essay, and top op-ed piece submitted for publication to the Asia Pacific Reader each year. The winners of these prizes will be published in that year's volume of the East Asia Forum.

Over the coming months we are going to create the infrastructure, selection committees, asking professors to take part in the selection process as judges.
